A Universe of Snacks

Michelle Mattia, the in-store registered dietitian from ShopRite will present a hands-on workshop with kid-friendly snacks so tasty and nutritious, they’re out of this world. Children will make their own edible crafts, with a focus on fresh, colorful produce. Ages 6 and up. Space is limited. Registration required. Registratin begins July 22nd.

Learn Ukulele with Julie

Want to try an instrument that is fun and easy to play? Join Julie Stepanek as she shows the fundamentals of ukulele playing. You'll learn how to tune, strum and read chords. 

This event will include a beginner’s lesson followed by a strum-along of easy songs. Ukuleles will be available on loan for the first 24 registrants. Participants are welcome to bring their own ukulele.

 Julie Stepanek, who also preforms under the name Calamine, and is best known for the theme song of Sealab2021, the Adult Swim series featuring an insane submarine crew. She divides her time between music and family, Massachusetts and New York, teaching and performing, but in every place she goes she always finds the public library.

Soup to Nutz with Cartoonist Rick Stromoski​

Rick Stromoski will talk about his career in cartooning and show samples of his hilarious cartoons and illustration work. He will be bringing books for sale and signing.  
Rick's illustrations and cartoons since 1983 have appeared in national magazines, advertising, book publishing, children's publications, licensing, newspaper syndication and network television. He has won a bunch of awards. Member of the Society of Illustrators, The National Cartoonists Society (of which he is a past President) and the local Costco.
