The Rotary Club of Enfield is honoring Enfield’s veterans by sponsoring military tribute banners that will be displayed in Higgins Park, the Town Green, Freshwater Walkway, North Main Street and Hazardville between Memorial Day and Veterans Day in 2026 and 2027. The Enfield Public Library partnered with Enfield Rotary to preserve digital versions of these banners as well as biographical information about each veteran.

Born November 11, 1947 (Veterans Day), Frank graduated high school in 1967 and joined the United States Marine Corp immediately following. He left for Parris Island on January 1, 1968 and graduated Boot Camp in March as a PVT 1st Class. From there he went to Camp Geiger for additional training, then to Camp Pendleton in April 1968 before deploying to Vietnam in May. He spent 13 months as a Tunnel Rat with CoC, 1stBn, 7thmar, 1stmardiv (rein), FMF. After returning from Vietnam he met his wife Linda and married her in Sept of 1973, and had 3 beautiful daughters, Rebecca, Sarah and Laura. Frank remained in the Marine Corp Reserves for the next 4 years and left the Marines as a LCPL in 1973 with an Honorable Discharge. After leaving the Marine Corp he joined the Army National Guard and served with the 712 from 1973 until 1978 and was Honorably discharged. In 1972 Frank became a Connecticut Corrections Officer and worked at the Hartford Jail for 1 year. He was then transferred to the McDougal facility in Suffield CT as a LT. from 1973 to 1994. Frank also became a Plumber and is now a Master Plumber and a Master Steam Fitter and has been for 57 years. To this day Frank is proud to say he served his country as a United States Marine and a National Guardsmen.
