The Rotary Club of Enfield is honoring Enfield’s veterans by sponsoring military tribute banners that will be displayed in Higgins Park, the Town Green, Freshwater Walkway, North Main Street and Hazardville between Memorial Day and Veterans Day in 2026 and 2027. The Enfield Public Library partnered with Enfield Rotary to preserve digital versions of these banners as well as biographical information about each veteran.

Henri Edward Rossignol proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. Enlisting on September 11, 1949, he served as an artillery ballistic meteorologist, a specialized role requiring precision, discipline, and technical expertise. Through his service, Henri demonstrated dedication and commitment, ultimately earning the rank of Sergeant before receiving an honorable discharge on August 17, 1953.

Following his military service, Henri built a successful civilian career. He worked at Pratt & Whitney, before going on to become the owner of G & R Machine and Tool Co. As a business owner, he was respected for his leadership, integrity, and craftsmanship.

Beyond his professional life, Henri was deeply committed to his community. He was a proud and active leader in the Boy Scouts of America, mentoring and guiding young people with the same values of responsibility and service that shaped his own life.

Henri made his home in Enfield beginning in 1959, where he remained a devoted member of the community until his passing on October 25, 2025. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Ann Rossignol, with whom he shared 52 years of marriage.

Above all, Henri was a devoted family man. He leaves behind a loving legacy through his six children, fifteen grandchildren, and twenty-five great-grandchildren. He took immense pride in his roles as a veteran, business owner, community leader, and longtime Enfield resident, and he will be remembered for his strength, dedication, and deep love for his family.
