Robert R. Daigle dedicated a significant portion of his early life to honorable military service across three branches of the United States Armed Forces. He began his military career in the U.S. Air Force on April 23, 1947, during the formative years of the newly established branch. Serving with commitment and discipline, Daigle rose to the rank of Sergeant before receiving an Honorable Discharge on April 7, 1950. His time in the Air Force likely shaped his strong sense of leadership, responsibility, and technical skill—qualities highly valued in the rapidly evolving post–World War II era of aviation and defense.

Continuing his service to the nation, Daigle joined the Maine Army National Guard on June 16, 1953. In Maine is where he met his wife, Claire, who married in 1954, and started their family. Over the next three years, he demonstrated his adaptability and continued devotion to duty, earning another Honorable Discharge on June 15, 1956.

He, Claire and their growing family, moved to CT in 1958. Robert worked as a skilled carpenter for many years, most notably for Leger Starr, assisting to build several homes and neighborhoods in the Enfield community; but not yet finished with military life, he went on to serve in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve, completing his service as a Sergeant and receiving an Honorable Discharge on February 25, 1961. His remarkable record—spanning the Air Force, Army National Guard, and Marine Corps—reflects exceptional patriotism and versatility. Few service members can claim such a broad and consistent record of dedication across multiple branches of the U.S. military, embodying a lifelong commitment to defense and duty.
