The Rotary Club of Enfield is honoring Enfield’s veterans by sponsoring military tribute banners that will be displayed in Higgins Park, the Town Green, Freshwater Walkway, North Main Street and Hazardville between Memorial Day and Veterans Day in 2026 and 2027. The Enfield Public Library partnered with Enfield Rotary to preserve digital versions of these banners as well as biographical information about each veteran.

Chester active was at Andrew, AFB Maryland. He was a medical helper technician 1969.  He left the Air Force 1974.

Chester was from Pittsburgh PA and moved his wife MaryAnn and two sons Chester III and Michael to Connecticut in 1984 for a better job.

He worked for Travelers Insurance company for a few years. Then change to United Healthcare, doing Medicare. Chester was manager and even worked while on his vacations. He was a very good speaker and always receiving awards. 

Chester was an avid golfer, joined a few golf leagues and loved outside, playing softball after work with his coworkers.  

 Also, Chester enjoy playing a game of chess with you.

Chester missed Pittsburgh but he kept in touch with his sports team the Steelers, the Penguins and the Pirates. He cheered them on. 

He was a member of Saint Bernards church of Enfield. 

Chester was very proud of our free country of United States of America. Plus Chester was also proud of his father in the army World War II Chester Sr. 

Chester and his father both had the nickname “Chip”, everyone called them that.

Chester passed away 2000 from pancreatic cancer. He struggled for 18 months, but went into work every day. He thought he could beat the cancer. Don’t give up the fight. He was only 50 years old.
