Relational Literacy Lab: Writing Meaningful Thank You Messages

Advance registration required beginning July 28. https://tinyurl.com/25rz9khw. Ages 16+

People Change People® is a social project that uses simple tools and shared experiences to strengthen human connection. This Relational Literacy Lab invites participants to write one meaningful message to someone who shaped or influenced their life.

Most of us can name someone who quietly shaped our life:
a teacher who believed in us,
a friend who stood behind us,
a parent, mentor, partner, or coach,
someone who showed up at the right moment.

We carry that gratitude. We do not always say it.

This workshop is grounded in decades of research exploring how close relationships, social connection, and prosocial behaviors influence long-term physical and mental well-being.

Research consistently demonstrates that strong social relationships are among the most important predictors of long-term health, resilience, and life satisfaction. Studies also suggest that directly expressing appreciation and support benefits both the giver and the receiver by reducing stress, strengthening connection, and reinforcing emotional well-being.

This 60-minute workshop creates a calm, structured space to put those ideas into practice and write one honest message.

One card.
One message.
One meaningful contribution.

Clear expressions of appreciation strengthen relationships and support well-being for both the writer and recipient. When gratitude is expressed directly, it deepens connection and often creates a meaningful ripple effect beyond the moment.

You choose what happens next. You may mail your card, keep it, or decide later. Sometimes the simple act of writing is enough.
