The Rotary Club of Enfield is honoring Enfield’s veterans by sponsoring military tribute banners that will be displayed in Higgins Park, the Town Green, Freshwater Walkway, North Main Street and Hazardville between Memorial Day and Veterans Day in 2026 and 2027. The Enfield Public Library partnered with Enfield Rotary to preserve digital versions of these banners as well as biographical information about each veteran.

Our father was born October 16, 1924, in the Thompsonville section of Enfield. After attending schools in Enfield, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy serving aboard the USS Kerstin in the South Pacific during World War 2. He was honorably discharged in 1946
Returning to Enfield, he married and raised 3 children. He continued his career at Hamilton Standard for 41 years, retiring in 1991.
During his retirement he enjoyed bowling, golfing, and an avid gardener sharing his harvest with family and friends.
