The Rotary Club of Enfield is honoring Enfield’s veterans by sponsoring military tribute banners that will be displayed in Higgins Park, the Town Green, Freshwater Walkway, North Main Street and Hazardville between Memorial Day and Veterans Day in 2026 and 2027. The Enfield Public Library partnered with Enfield Rotary to preserve digital versions of these banners as well as biographical information about each veteran.

Aloysius F. Klesseck was born on July 19, 1920, in Putnam, CT. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Marine Corps during World War II, where he was assigned to the Marine Aircraft Group and participated in the liberation of the Philippine Islands, as well as, the subsequent occupation of China.
Following his military service, Mr. Klesseck was employed for many years as a toolmaker with Pratt & Whitney/Chandler Evans in West Hartford, CT. He was an active member of his community, serving as a communicant of St. Gertrude Church in Windsor. He also belonged to American Legion Post 59 and VFW Post 4740, both in Windsor.
In addition to his professional and civic commitments, Mr. Klesseck dedicated time to local youth sports, serving as both a coach and umpire in the Windsor Little League and Senior Baseball League.
