The Rotary Club of Enfield is honoring Enfield’s veterans by sponsoring military tribute banners that will be displayed in Higgins Park, the Town Green, Freshwater Walkway, North Main Street and Hazardville between Memorial Day and Veterans Day in 2026 and 2027. The Enfield Public Library partnered with Enfield Rotary to preserve digital versions of these banners as well as biographical information about each veteran.

Frank Jamrogowicz served our country during World War II. He joined the Navy in May 1944. He attended training in Sampson, N.Y. and was assigned to the USS Wichita. He received an Honorable Discharge as Seaman 1c in December 1945.
A lifelong resident of Enfield, CT he was born in 1918 in Thompsonville and resided in Hazardville until his passing in 1969. He was married to Lillian Starr and they had two daughters. His entrepreneurial spirit called him to start his own business in 1954. Frank and Lillian owned and operated Frank's Oil Service based in the center of Hazardville. As our town continued to expand their business flourished serving the needs of the community. Lillian and her son-in-law continued to operate the business until the mid-1970's
Frank was a member of John Maciolek Post 154, American Legion and Northern Connecticut Fuel Dealers Association.
