The Rotary Club of Enfield is honoring Enfield’s veterans by sponsoring military tribute banners that will be displayed in Higgins Park, the Town Green, Freshwater Walkway, North Main Street and Hazardville between Memorial Day and Veterans Day in 2026 and 2027. The Enfield Public Library partnered with Enfield Rotary to preserve digital versions of these banners as well as biographical information about each veteran.

Jack  Iacolino was born in Thompsonville, CT to parents who emigrated from Italy (Sicily) in 1918. The parents had six sons and two daughters, Jack  was the 3rd son. His older brothers Charles, James, and younger brothers, Joseph, Carlo, and John  all served in the US Army.

Jack proudly served in Italy and France in the US Army from 1944 - 1946  WWII and worked as a Technician 5th Grade in Logistics support.

Upon release from the US Army in 1946, he served as a Printer on Central St in Thompsonville, CT. He later worked for over 25 years at Stanadyne, Inc in Windsor, CT as Quality Control/Testing Technician.

Jack was an exceptional Duckpin bowler at Russotto's Lanes in Thompsonville, loved NFL football games especially the New York Giants, and loved cards games.

Jack Iacolino was a lifelong resident of Enfield, CT.
